Twenty-eight years working Luton
Luton is home. JG Tapers and Jointers is based here, registered here, and have worked the town since 1998. We’ve taped and jointed for prestigious commercial developments at Capability Green Business Park, large units at Butterfield Business Park on Hitchin Road, the continuous expansion around Luton Airport, and dozens of residential renovations across Luton’s neighbourhoods.
Being local means we know the town. Which trading estates need what. Which main contractors are working which sites. Which residential streets have been getting renovations over the years. Most of the time we can be on a Luton site within twenty minutes of leaving the workshop, which makes us a practical choice for snag-resolution work and tight-timeline programmes.
Luton’s grown commercially over our years here. The business parks at Capability Green and Butterfield have brought serious commercial work into the area, alongside Luton Airport’s continuous development and the new Luton Airport Parkway station. We’ve worked across all of it, and plenty of residential alongside, the kind of work that comes through word-of-mouth rather than advertising.

Yes. JG Tapers and Jointers is registered in Luton and has been based here since 1998. James grew up working sites in the local area and built the company up from here. We’re as local as it gets in this trade.

Services we offer
Commercial and residential. Labour-only or supply and fix. We work with main contractors on tight programmes and with private clients on home renovations.

Commercial taping and jointing
Hotels, office fit-outs, retail, hospitality, car showrooms, warehouses. We programme to your schedule, work around the other trades on site, and hit deadlines. Most main contractors hire us labour-only.

Residential taping and jointing
Renovations, extensions, new builds, occupied homes. The Festool kit matters most here. People living in the property don’t end up with dust over their kitchen counters and skirtings when we leave.

Fermacell FST (Fine Surface Treatment)
Fermacell finished to Fine Surface Treatment standard, ready for paint or paper. A lot of jointers won’t touch Fermacell. The technique is different and the margin for error is smaller. We do it, and we do it properly. More on our Fermacell page.

Labour-only or supply and fix
Tell us what suits your build. Materials supplied through us, or yours on site. Most contractors prefer labour-only. Residential clients usually want the full package. Either’s fine, the standard doesn’t change.
